One of the things ...

 
... I love about The 10 is trying to find a theme that binds our story picks. Our Digital Editor Andrew Catalina helps with this, and I never know what challenge he might throw my way.
 
This week our stories seem to have a strong connection to the water — President Joe Biden’s infrastructure proposal touches on Maine bridges, going over rivers whose flow can be affected by beavers' dams, which can cause infrastructure damage. And on the Kennebec River, state officials have dropped a plan to remove dams, which could have helped restore the migratory route of Atlantic salmon. So I guess dams, both man- and beaver-made, are our common thread!
 
But that's not this week's only link to the water — a profile on Marketplace highlights Rockland boatbuilder Back Cove Yachts.

Maine Public: Bill Would Make It Easier For Maine Landowners To Remove Nuisance Beavers

Right now, Maine law only allows state officials and licensed animal control agents to relocate or kill beavers. But an amended version of that legislation would allow private landowners to eradicate nuisance beavers with special permission from the Office of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
