Hi Jeanne,

Right now is a critical time to support the Tacoma community and the Puyallup Tribe. Here's a message from Stacy at 350 Seattle that I want to share with you:

Puget Sound Energy’s Tacoma LNG facility was built without consultation or consent from the Puyallup Tribe, and before it had received all of its permits. We know this facility endangers our health, safety and climate, threatening Indigenous, Brown, and Black bodies first and worst. The Puyallup Tribe is steadfast in their opposition to the facility and our community continues to follow their leadership and to fight with them.

Right now, the Puyallup Tribe and Earthjustice are appealing a key permit. The cases will finally be heard in court back-to-back for two weeks starting on April 12th. Despite that, Puget Sound Energy has filed to start operating the facility in May, well before any hearing decision would be made. Now is our time to come together as a community behind the litigation.

NO TACOMA LNG

Here are three actions you can take right now:

  1. Sign up for our watch party and updates on the permit challenges. Join our community as we send hopeful energy towards these proceedings. We are powerful when we gather, even on Zoom!
  2. Help us surround the LNG construction site with positive thoughts of alternate possibilities in the form of colorful flags—each of your "tweet" sized messages will be written onto a flag and hung along the fence.
  3. Tell the Utility and Transportation Committee (UTC) that the Tacoma LNG project is NOT in the public's interest!

Turning on the Tacoma LNG facility is NOT in the public's interest!!

A huge thanks to our SAFE partner 350 Seattle for their incredible solidarity work and rockstar organizing! If you're in the Seattle area and want to get involved, please sign up here.

Thanks for all you do!
