The Organic Certification Cost Share Program makes it easier for small farmers to get their organic certification -- all for just $750 per farmer.

But now this critical funding could be under threat. We need your help to show Congress that we want more organic agriculture, not less.

Dear Legislator,

Demand for organic food in the U.S. far outstrips supply. Despite record-breaking sales in the organic sector, less than one percent of American farmland is organic. American farmers are struggling to keep pace, leading to increasing reliance on imports. This is a missed opportunity to deliver major economic benefits for America’s farmers and rural communities and major conservation benefits for our nation.

I urge you to advocate for the Organic Certification Cost Share Program. Since it was launched in 2002, the program has helped thousands of small and mid-sized farmers get certified organic.

The farmers who use the organic certification cost share program are a core part of the American organic supply chain. Without them, companies that make organic products would be forced to source even more from abroad in order to meet demand for organic in the U.S.

Americans now buy nearly $50 billion worth of organic products. Let’s make sure American farmers can benefit from this ever-growing demand. The Organic Certification Cost Share program is a critical source of support for our farmers.
