From North 5th Street to Baltimore Avenue, Philadelphia restaurants struggling to survive the pandemic found a lifeline in public space as they transformed sidewalks and streets into outdoor dining rooms.
These “streeteries” were envisioned as a temporary response to the pandemic. Now there is a chance to make them a permanent fixture via a bill under consideration in City Council.
