Details:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is remembered as a brilliant orator, civic leader and changemaker. But an underexplored competency of the young reverend was his media savviness. Dr. King and his allies understood that to affect change, they had to first sway public opinion, which meant attracting and leveraging the news media.
This year’s Conversations of Kings: Media, Narratives and Social Change, will explore and expand on Dr. King’s strategic use of media to promote social change and suggest ways that communities can craft new complex narratives and build relationships in the news industry that advance their civic interest.
This event is in partnership with NewCORE.
