Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with WETA

WETA proudly celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with special programming that highlights the rich culture and history of Hispanic Americans. Our programming begins Tuesday with Building the American Dream, a documentary which tells the story of immigrant construction workers in Texas who are seeking justice and equality in an industry rife with exploitation. 

Building the American Dream airs Tuesday, September 15 at 10pm on WETA PBS or stream with the free PBS Video app.

Season 4 of Last Tango in Halifax Begins Sunday

This triple BAFTA-winning drama tells the story of love-struck Alan Buttershaw (Derek Jacobi) and Celia Dawson (Anne Reid) who rediscover their love for each other 60 years after they first met. In Series 4, Alan and Celia enter their seventh year of marriage and settle into a lovely new home, only to find that they aren't always seeing eye to eye. Clashing politics, Alan's new job and other distractions create tensions in the household that threaten their marital bliss.

Last Tango in Halifax airs Sunday, September 20 at 8pm on WETA PBS or stream with the free PBS Video app.

Frontline: Policing the Police 2020 Dives Deep into One of America's Most Critical Issues

A new episode of Frontline investigates race, policing, and the struggle to hold police departments accountable for misconduct. In the wake of George Floyd's killing, New Yorker writer Jelani Cobb examines prospects for reform, and returns to the case of one troubled department he first visited in 2016.

Stream Three Superlative Performances From the National Symphony Orchestra, This Month Only

September is traditionally the kick-off for the new National Symphony Orchestra season. While we can't enjoy new performances in-person at the Kennedy Center, we've decided to celebrate our hometown orchestra with not one, not two, but three special NSO performances from our archive, now available on our website. "Three Conductors and a Concertmaster" aired on Classical WETA in February 2019; "A French Celebration" aired April 2019 and "Noseda Conducts Mahler and Tchaikovsky" aired April 2020.

WETA Offers Back-to-School Resources for At-Home Learning

Throughout the fall, WETA will offer educational programming on WETA PBS and WETA World to extend children's learning and engagement. Parents and teachers will also be able to find teacher-led instructional programming for grades K-7, with each program being supplemented with grade-level learning resources across subjects. These services are in addition to the educational children's series that air around the clock on WETA PBS Kids.
