Happy Friday Everybody!

This week the chill, low clouds, and changing leaves firmly mark that fall has arrived. Time to pick those apples!

We saw that puffin chick numbers dropped this week on Maine’s Coastal islands, but what does this mean for the species? (Hint: there could be a climate tie-in to the drop).

Congressional districts in Maine are also shifting and singing is coming back into schools. And we learned how childcare centers are even more strained as the pandemic marches on. Maine Public highlighted the fragility of the state’s childcare situation a few years back with our series, "Deep Dive: Childcare." Catch up on it here.

The final note this week adds a bit of intrigue with a look at one woman’s role in the French Resistance during World War II.
