Now we know ...

... “Where Eagles Dare”…in Maine! Maine Public News braved frigid temperatures in pursuit of the rare Steller’s Sea Eagle. Normally this large bird lives around Russia and Japan, but birders across the state have sighted it recently along the Midcoast. Also, the ice disk in Westbrook has reappeared…if only the two could converge, it would be an incredible Maine winter moment!

Our news team is working on some big things, this is just a tease... but hang with us 'till around the end of the month and you’ll be rewarded.

Also on the agenda this week: why teenage sarcasm could be a sign of smarts, Barbie commemorates trailblazing journalist Ida B. Wells, NPR looks inward as more high-profile journalists of color leave, and how the pandemic is impacting new businesses.

Lots to read and listen to here.

Stay warm and healthy!
