There are a lot ...

... of big stories this week covering police-involved shootings and reform cases. You can read about those at mainepublic.org, but here some other picks you might not have seen.

First, a public media connection crossover: Levar Burton (of Reading Rainbow, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Roots fame), will end up guest hosting an episode of Jeopardy after the passing of longtime host Alex Trebek. Burton was nominated after a massive online fan push, and apparently has had a longtime interest in hosting the show.

I also recommend you read about how paid sick time or lack thereof is affecting vaccination efforts, from our friends at Marketplace.

My final pick is from the BBC on how the creative process works, and why persistence at a creative endeavor may pay off more than your intuition might suggest.

Good reading to you!
