Catherine,

The COP26 global climate summit has come to a close.

Here at Stand.earth, we're still assessing the results of the global climate summit. But we're absolutely sure about this: In order to stop the climate crisis, the flow of money to coal, oil, and gas companies must end.

That's why Stand.earth and a coalition of allies have released a new report showing that institutions with assets totalling nearly $40 trillion are divesting from fossil fuels.

The report grabbed headlines in the New York Times and Bloomberg. We need to spread this message that organizations as mainstream as the Vatican, Queen Elizabeth II, the Rockefeller Brothers, AXA insurance, and Harvard University are all, at some level, divesting their holdings in fossil fuels.

Will you help spead the word over about this massive announcement?

There are now over half a million members of the Stand.earth community. By working together, we’ve collectively delayed or stopped dozens of dirty energy projects, protected millions of acres of forest, and shifted billions of dollars in corporate purchasing onto more sustainable pathways.

By spreading this news and and continuing to keep up the pressure, we can protect the climate by blocking the money that's feeding fossil fuel extraction. Bloomberg just reported that the cost of borrowing money for fossil fuel projects is climbing, surpassing renewables, due to investors feeling pressure from divestment and finance campaigns. If corporations can’t get up-front financing for their fossil fuel projects, these projects will never be built.

Let the world know that nearly 1400 institutions, including pension funds, insurers and universities are already taking their money out of fossil fuels.
